Portage Central's fall production
Director Kathy Mulay has announced that the 2008 fall play will feature the production choice that will be performed at the 2009 International Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. The title of that musical production is "DO BLACK PATENT LEATHER SHOES REALLY REFLECT UP?" Production dates are October 18, 24, 25 at 8:00 PM and Sundays, October 19 and 26 at 3:00 PM. Box Office: 269-323-5270.
The story focuses on 8 Chicago children growing up in the 1950s who attend Catholic school from elementary to senior prom and beyond. Based on the book by John Powers, "DO BLACK PATENT LEATHER SHOES REALLY REFLECT UP?" holds the record for the longest running show in Chicago and Boston history. It will tickle your funny bone whether you attended private or public school. Its about growing up and growing wise...something we can all identify with and remember. A GROWD PLEASER FOR ALL AGES!
