Portage Central's fall production
Director Kathy Mulay has announced that the 2008 fall play will feature the production choice that will be performed at the 2009 International Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland. Only those students that have committed to the festival trip will be involved. The title of that production will be released once the rights have been approved by the licensing company. Portage Central Performing Arts Department under the direction of Kathy Mulay has been selected to perform in the Edinburgh Theatre Festival in
Portage Central was selected by the AHSTF Board of Advisors to participate in the festival. The Board, comprised of theatre educators and professionals, reviews all completed applications and identifies the top high schools based on their most recent bodies of work, community involvement, philosophies and recommendations. Most recently, Portage Central presented the ambitious production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. Past productions have included Miss Saigon, Enter Laughing, The Scarlet Pimpernel, The Diary of Anne Frank, Les Miserables, a new adaptation of Little Women, and Ragtime.
This trip will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for those students who will serve as ambassadors representing the performing arts of
